The Summer Learning Collaborative
Help 2,000 children improve literacy skills this summer
Literacy is necessary for a child's academic progress and the foundation of their communication. Low income children face the highest risk during the summer while not in school, losing months of reading progress.
BOSTnet and the United Way of Mass. Bay work with children in grades K through 3 at 25 summer programs in the highest need areas in Massachusetts to close the income-based achievement gap in literacy. We need books and materials to make that impact.
You can see the books we're using on our Summer Literacy Amazon Wishlist (and even order directly on Amazon for us).
Low Income Children
85% of children enrolled at the sites come from low income households.
Summer literacy works
81% of children tested avoided a typical reading slide expected during the summer.
A generous leader has agreed to match the first $1,500 worth of donations so your impact will be doubled!
BOSTnet is section 501(c)(3) approved by the IRS and donations made are tax deductible. All you need is your confirmation email.
100% of all book donations go towards purchasing books, on Amazon (minus the small fee PayPal charges). We’d love it if you donated to us too so we can keep serving programs that need help.
